A genuine question that I've wondered about for quite some time now:

In real life, how does one properly respond to, "Sup?"

Especially if it's said as you're passing the other person with barely enough time to get one syllable out before it's too late.

I'm serious.

I HATE "SUP?".

i've wondered the same thing. a lot. but i usually just ignore their fake concern with how i'm doing, and say, "hey, how's it going?"

or just "hey". or sometimes nothing. depending on how well i know them.

If you find out, let me know.

I've found that chanting "nothingmuchhowaboutyou?" as quickly as possible leaves you hanging because the other person has passed you already by the time you finish.

On the other hand, I feel wierd saying "hey" or "good, you?" back, because they weren't saying hi or asking how you were, they were asking what you were doing. Sort of.

I think my next plan of action is to be the one who gets out the "sup?" and the quick nod first, and watch how people respond. I'll report back once I have results.

One time someone said "Sup" to me and I was like ....."Good how are you?" and there had kinda heard what I said and they were like "What?", and I was just like "don't worry about it",........ then I cowered, and after that I simply just say "hey" to sup, I don't care if it makes sense or not.
